The original plan for attaching the center drawer/case to the underside of the desktop involved using a nine Quick Connect bolts screwed into Quick connect plain inset nuts installed flush with the surface through a series of circular and oval holes. After piloting this method, we found that securing the screws from underneath was an uncomfortable, laborious, and unnecessarily long process.
Instead, we opted to "hang" the case from the sides of the consoles using four fabricated steel hangers (with two 90 degree angles), powder coated and secured with brass screws. This approach allowed the case to be quickly quickly sat on the top of the consoles, held firmly in place by countersunk screws and the natural weight of the desktop.
