Session 63 - August 10, 2017: Locked and aligned

Having purchased five (5) identical brass standard till/drawer locks from Lee Valley, we looked for inspiration for a consistent and efficient method to prepare the drawer fronts. Our chosen solution was a method presented by Fine Woodworking executive art director Michael Pekovich, using a set of three jigs to router each step consecutively: the method can be seen here: https://www.finewoodworking.com/2014/12/03/router-jigs-make-mortised-locks-easy.

To create the jigs, we attached plywood pieces together at exact 90 degree angles using wood glue and nails; we drew pencil lines to identify the portions to be removed and also to help act as guidelines when setting up each drawer front.
